My approach: Rooted in connection, guided by evidence

Welcome to a gentler, more attuned way of supporting your family’s sleep. At Nurtured Infancy, I combine a deep respect for your child’s unique needs with evidence-based knowledge in child development, mental health, and holistic wellbeing.

This is not sleep training. This is not one-size-fits-all.
This is a collaborative, nurturing, and empowering approach designed to support the whole family.

Evidence based and research-informed

You want the best for your child, and so do I. My support is grounded in the latest research in neuroscience, psychology, circadian biology, and child mental health. I assess sleep holistically and offer guidance rooted in safety, science, and compassion — not trends or rigid methods.

Holistic and individualised

Sleep doesn’t happen in isolation. I look at the full picture — including feeding, sensory needs, family dynamics, emotional wellbeing, environment, and your child’s unique rhythm. We work together to understand the deeper causes of sleep disruption, rather than trying to fix the surface.

Your sleep plan will reflect your family’s values, preferences, and neurodivergence (if applicable), so it feels supportive and sustainable; never forced.

Trauma-informed and mental health aware

The first years of life shape your child’s nervous system and sense of safety. My work is trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and mental health conscious — honouring both the child’s emotional world and the caregiver’s wellbeing.

You will never be asked to leave your child to cry alone or use behaviour-based methods that go against your instincts.

Responsive and relationship-centred

At the heart of it all is your relationship with your child. My approach is gentle, respectful, and neuro-affirming. I support co-regulation, emotional attunement, and connection as the foundation for healthy sleep — not control or conditioning.

Developmentally appropriate and play-focused

With a background in psychology and a strong understanding of early childhood development, I help you recognise what’s biologically expected and developmentally normal. We honour your child’s need for connection, movement, sensory input, and play — all of which influence how they sleep and thrive.

If this resonates with your values and you’re ready to explore a deeper, more supportive way forward, I’d love to work with you.

‘Our 2.5 year old has never been the best sleeper. But now he is a toddler the length of awake times had increased and with a newborn in the house we needed help as we were exhausted. We are so grateful that we found Kara, her holistic and gentle approach not only aligned with our parenting values, it got results and found answers we would not have gotten if we had taken a less gentle approach or even followed popular gentle programs.

Our son is now sleeping through the night, we have been able to address other issues we didn’t even know existed such as behaviour we thought was developmental and diet changes.

We cannot recommend Kara enough if you are at all concerned about your little one's sleep or looking to adjust your little one's sleep to suit lifestyle changes’.
